The new housing bail out plan includes a plan to help groups like ACORN who assist low and moderate people in finding housing.
ACORN also has a voter registeration group that goes into poor African American and Hispanic neighborhood to register them to vote. These groups are likely to vote Democrat.
ACORN had problems earlier this year when it was discovered that the founder had stolen money and it was covered up he had to resign.
ACORN also had problems when several paid canvassers admitted to filling out false forms. They now get paid $8 an hour instead of by how many forms were filled out.
